Thoughts of the past

Trevor is sitting in his (and Zach's) room with a mug of coffee, looking more troubled than he has in ages. Things had been going so well for so long. He was actually happy with his life here ( Read more... )

It's never a good sign when Trevor isn't sleeping and the constant aura of caffeine only makes it all that much worse. Given all of that, Zach is understandably nervous in that fidgety-fingers sort of way that usually leads to him tapping out a pointless rhythm on his keyboard while he stares at a blank screen. Now, however, he's looking for Trevor, who isn't so difficult to find - he never really is - and looking rather worried.

"Hey, Trev."

Zach gets a very small smile, and Trevor sets his mug of coffee down. "Hey..." He holds an arm out to Zach, inviting him to come sit. Because really, Trevor needs to touch his boyfriend, to reassure himself that Zach is still alive and whole, that Trevor hasn't quite gone off the deep end and torn him to pieces yet.

And frankly, it's the yet that worries him.

Zach might be a little hesitant if he could read Trevor's mind but he can't and he's always been just a little bit glad for that fact. As much as he loves his boyfriend, he wouldn't know what to do in that brain. So he makes his way over to sit next to Trev, wrapping his arms around him as he asks the question that always scares him just a little to ask. "How you feeling?"

"I'm okay..." Though 'okay' is relative. 'Okay' means that he's not about to go crazy on Zach. 'Okay' means that they can hold each other without Trevor feeling the overwhelming urge to tear into him. 'Okay' means that there's no body count yet.

He leans against Zach, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend's waist and pressing their foreheads together, eyes closed. "I talked to this guy..." Which is how it usually starts, isn't it? That's what happened with Tran -- but this is completely different. No bloodshed this time. Just memories of it.
