The Big Belated News
So most everyone knows, but for those LJ friends out there, last Tuesday, Dec 18, Michael and I got engaged. (I would have posted sooner, but let's face it, dial-up at home sucks).
Not super huge news for anyone who knows us but fun nevertheless.
So we were just going to have a regular day of running xmas errands and the like. I'm still getting ready when he rings the doorbell. I open it up and he looks nice! yay, but too nice, which I would later learn was all picked for a reason.
And he has a gift for me! I still hadn't caught on because he had been a buttface earlier on in the week and it's not totally unheard of for him to get a little something. He tells me he had gotten it a while ago and just thought now was a good time (and I STILL hadn't caught on?).
What was it? A copy of I am American and so can you. Alas, the romance, but it worked and kept me guessing. He tells me to open it up and inside is a little poem he had written for me (awwww). And yet STILL I didn't catch on, not totally anyway. I remember thinking "wouldn't this be cool if this WAS it."
But then he tells me to flip to the back and starts reaching in his coat pocket. Under the back flap is another piece of paper saying "Will you marry me?" and there he is holding a ring. Awww.
Pretty much we just hugged a lot after that.
And then ran our errands anyway in between telling other people around charlotte in person. It was good times.
We almost didn't do anything for dinner or anything, like, we were gonna cook at my house, then we looked at each other and were like, wtf?, this is a one time thing! So we went and got sushi. No stupid melting pot or anything, ugh. It was awesome, laid back, and delicious. Just like us. :)
I felt this was an obligatory post and it's a fun thing to share anyway!
