The Big Bag theory is a theory as opposed te just being a philosophical idea. This means you can think of experiments to verify it or disprove its correct modelling of reality. Granted you can't just wind back the time and check. But you can observe the universe (or the small fragment of it we can actually reach with our technology) ... and no one has yet found any conclusive evidence that proves the Big Bang theory wrong
