I believe that the numbers in HR 25 add up. But, many people are misrepresenting them.
The FairTax plan is revenue neutral. It is not a tax cut in anyway. Many people seem to think that they are going to benefit someway from it when they will not. Most people's spending power is going to remain exactly the same. Some will benefit, some will be paying more.
The big advantage of the FairTax (for me) is not having to fill out complex tax forms. Did I claim a deduction that I wasn't suppose to? Did I miss deductions that I was entitled to.
I bought a ceiling fan, but was it the right model for the tax deduction.
Thus, by this theory, my purchasing power should shoot up dramatically, which makes no sense.Your purchasing power will not shoot up dramatically. There will be little or no change to your purchasing power. The Fair Tax plan is revenue neutral
