So, I talked to my parents last night on the phone, which has become an every day experience anymore. My father is going to propose to the state that a closed-circuit system is used for the time being, rather than having someone in the room. As it stands now, the state is requiring someone to be in the room, AND that someone has to be approved by

Sounds to me like this patient is going to be looking extremely embarassed. Can your father press charges for slanderous stuff if the case is dismissed? I sure as heck would.

My guess is that she'll end up being sued for both slander and libel, with intent to criminally defame. I would also imagine that the lawyer that originally started all this will be sued, though I don't know what the claim will be. He violated confidentiality as well as had a conflict of interest (he works for the same firm that my parent's financial stuff is handled through). Should be a hoot.
