Happiness is...

playing an impromptu set of kick-ass songs to a very enthusiastic crowd of bouncy people at the Blues night at Bodega. Playing bass with an awesome band. Having fun with music.

Staying up way late, having to get up early the next day, and playing another gig tomorrow night, suffering for it but enjoying life very very very much.

Thanks my dear. I seem to have turned a very positive corner in my musical development and more importantly, I have people I can count as very dear friends I'm making music with. That seems to make all the difference in terms of keeping the passion and enthusiasm for it alive. Playing music in New Zealand doesn't make you rich, or well off, or even break even most of the time. My friends and I do it because there's something fantastic about putting on an entertaining show and making people dance and sing.

Also, and I didn't say so before, but: keep up the ukelele playing! I have a uke as well, and it's so damn much fun to do singalongs with. Sounds like you're committing to more music in your life - that's something that nobody can take away from you :-)

Hugs from around the world

Peter
