Adjectives, hmmh. Some characters that first come to mind through some of those are... Sawyer, Locke, Hurley, Charlie, Desmond, Daniel... Casual maybe something of woshisname the pilot, too, maybe some distant hints of Eloise Hawking on her less "This is vitally important" or 50s gung-ho days, some Charlotte, not sure about Ilana. I think Desmond perhaps the most for adjectives.
Desmond has a soldier's training, so that might go with martial arts, although chess and some of that also hint at Locke at times? I forget what Desmond used to say, but I could hear "Relax, brother" from him in relation to optimism.
Oh, and I guess some Boone might match bits of all that as well, especially the mature + peaceful + disliking immature people bits. I'm also leaning more and more toward the pilot, whom I even like a lot, so damn not remembering the name right now. While I can see Desmond getting frustrated like you, and Daniel is reflected in being too unsure to lead anyone, I think the pilot has to be my primary choice for you. I'll check

I really suck at explaining my choices, but Sayid is very physical(tae kwon do) and Dan fits your adjectives well.
The LOST answers make me think Sayid and Dan as well.
