To: The fair queen superduperkc, who provided a nice list of pairings to choose from! I was a little too daunted to dabble in the Jack/Sawyer/Claire ‘verse, so instead I took a short foray into Sawyer/Claire territory…
Title: God Knows Even Angels Fall
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Characters: Sawyer/Claire-ConMama, right?
Summary: She wasn’t his type, really.
Author’s Note: OK, so I decided to push my comfort zone on this one a little-I usually see Sawyer/Claire in a much more sibling-esque light. But this is a luau, right? It’s a party! So, I pushed it a little…and this is the result!

Sawyer didn’t go for angels.

He wasn’t into the virgin half of the dichotomy. Not that he bedded whores, exactly, he just didn’t have a lot of use for the virginal type. He wanted them to fall, sure, but he didn’t want them to need him the way the virginal type tended to.

Claire was all wrong for him from the first moment he saw her, and it wasn’t just the whole…mamacita pregnancy thing. It was the cute little face, the button nose, the golden hair and the big blue eyes, that too-cute accent. He wouldn’t have gone so far as to call her virginal-after all, it had been about 2000 years since a virgin gave birth, last he checked-but she exuded the sweetness and light that he strove to avoid.

That’s why he was floored the day he saw her storm off into the jungle, muttering obscenities that even raised his eyebrows a bit He couldn’t resist at least taking a quick stroll to see what the source of all the frustration was and, if he was honest, offer her some smart-ass comment to console her. It wasn’t Oprah, but it was the best he had.

“Now, little mama,” he drawled, sidling up behind her as she continued her muttering, “what’s got your panties in such a bunch?”

“Piss off, Sawyer,” she snapped, preparing to walk more quickly.

“Now now, that’s no way for a mother to talk. You wouldn’t kiss Aaron with that mouth, would you?”

She might have slapped him if she was a bit taller, but he was able to catch her hand.

“Is there anyone else you might like to kiss with that mouth, sweetheart?”

She glowered at him, trying to pull her hand free, but he knew he was stronger.

“I see. Are you more of a skip-to-the-makeup-sex, 21st century kind of gal?”

She even startled him with how fast she was able to get her hand out of his grip that time, and that time the slap came faster than he would have believed from such an angelic little thing.

“Temper, temper,” he warned, winking at her, walking away a bit more quickly than he intended in an effort to shake the sudden desire to push her up against a tree and kiss her for a start.

So that was why he was all the more startled when she suddenly grabbed him in an attempt to do that very thing, stretching her head up to press her hot mouth against his.

Just as abruptly as the kiss had started, it ended, with Claire nearly running away without even a look back.

Maybe it’s time I start giving those little angels a try.
