Greetings!
THE DRABBLE CHALLENGE IS CLOSED! THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!!
Since we’ve got no new Lost this week, it seems like a good time for a mini-challenge, and what better for a mini-challenge than drabbles? Thus, we bring you the Lost Drabble Challenge!
A drabble has different definitions depending on who you ask, but for this challenge we will be going with strict drabbles-- short, concise stories told in exactly 100 words. Not 101, not 99 - but exactly 100 words. This is about craftsmanship as much as anything else.
If you sign up, you will be responsible for writing one drabble of strict 100 word count length, inspired by the word(s) you’re given. In this case, your surprise word (or two) will be chosen for you by a completely random word generator*. Yes, a random word generator. That means not even the mods have any idea what kind of prompts you will get!
The challenge will run for ten days, through 5:59 PM PST on Wednesday, March 18th, the time Lost returns for those of you living in the eastern US. You can play by leaving a comment on this post ("I'm in", etc.) and your randomly selected word will be given to you ASAP as a reply to your comment.
When you’ve completed your drabble, you should post it as a comment
here. When you comment with your finished drabble, please put your prompt in the subject line.
You can play as many times as you like -- after you've posted your first drabble, simply come back to this post and ask for more!
Ready? The Lost Drabble Challenge starts.... NOW!
