Article against teaching native languages to children.

I heard there will be money available for native students to learn their language in Washington state. Darned if I can't remember anymore than that.

If that happens (even now for some fluent students)I think teachers that work with native americans in k-12 need to have a little knowledge in native tongue, for the purpose of understanding their culture. Especially in the first few years when miscommnication happens more when you haven't learned how to convey information using other words or means.

excuse me , but most people speak english now ,if we are to teach a second language it should be something practical, like spanish!stop living in the past, ive never known my tribal language and ive done just fine.
