I wonder why it's so unusual. Is it too easy because Danny is gay and likes Derek? I'd think there'd be at least a few stories about them but there's almost none. It baffles me.

That sentence is actually very important to me. Although Derek goes on and on about the bite being a gift and everything, he hasn't bitten anyone without the person asking for it and I don't believe he would. So I don't think he'd mate Danny without consent either.
