The dynamic between Sherlock & John in your stuff is such a joy to read - so well-developed yet understated, and the emotional heft behind their dialogue (and actions) just never lets up, though it ebbs and flows realistically. The whole world here is so well-realized; I love spending time here. :-)

‘It was your caring and gentle nature I truly missed whilst I was in Africa,’ John said with a grin.

‘Do be quiet,’ Sherlock returned, though a smile played around his lips.
Oh boys, I missed your snarky bantering. ♥

... I like Mary. :D

Boys, don't fight. /)_(\ Oh Sherlock, you socially awkward puppy. He feels so much when it comes to John, because he's Sherlock's heart.

Sooob, I love them so mu-hu-huuuuch.

I like Mary, too! I think she may have to make a re-appearance at some stage...

I think he steps right past 'socially awkward' in this straight into classist misogynist arsehole, haha, but he'll always rein it in if John tells him to. So glad you're enjoying this love, thank you for your comments! <3

Sounds about right. He's such an asshole, but we love him because John does. Sigh.

It makes me so sad that they can't even have a proper row for fear of being heard. And poor Sherlock really; he can't tell Alice the truth of why John's off limits and so he lashes out however he can. But also good on John for not letting him get away with it. It's not Alice's fault after all.

It certainly isn't Alice's fault - Sherlock's just being an arse because he can be. Good job he's got John to keep him in check! :)
