OK, tell me who your picks are in the Presidential and NC gubernatorial races.I'll start with the NC gubernatorial race, just because it's easier. :p ( Read more... )

I like Moore. I had a few issues with Perdue when I was living in New Bern. Let's just say the refusal to debate doesn't surprise me at all. I like Pat McCrory for the Republicans but I don't think he's got a chance.

Looks like we'll be cancelling each other out in the May 6 Presidential primary. ;) I'm glad McCain's on the Republican side--he doesn't scare me the way previous Republicans have.

Jo doesn't like Perdue either - something about her condescending and ham-handed ways of dealing with teachers.

Exactly. My bad experience with her was through the NCAE.

I'm actually a little surprised that McCain wasn't your first choice, and I'm even more surprised that Hillary is because anyone I've heard voice an opinion about her either can't stand her or don't trust her. Which, of course, leaves me curious... if you don't mind me asking, what is it about Obama that you're not fond of?

And if you do mind, well I guess I'll just be curious. ;)

I don't trust any politicians. But as Jo says, "Sure, she's a bitch. But bitches get things done."

Speaking as bitch, I have to agree with Jo. :D

Hillary is going to be in Winston this afternoon, and Kathleen and I are going to see her.

I heard part of her speech on CNN Radio (I have satellite). It was a good one--I was impressed, against my will. :P I really liked what she had to say about outsourcing--that's a pet peeve of mine, and she nailed it. I was applauding--well, as well as I could while driving the car. :P

Now if she'll release the records of her activities as First Lady from the Clinton library, and run a clean campaign, I could feel a little warmer towards her.

But then again, I know a lot of people who like Hillary, believe that the very things I hate about her, are actually valuable skills. I can't begrudge anyone that, I just don't agree. :P

I'd rather see Hillary than Obama, as well. She strikes me as being the more pragmatic, realistic, of the two Democrats. That being said, I'm most likely going with McCain...I'm probably going to (gasp) post my views on the election in the ol' blog shortly.
