i may be an idiot, but what exactly is a chocolate slab? and where would one go to discover a recipe for such things, along with the kahlua custard sauce?! (:

A chocolate slab is exactly that. A chocolate slab. It's a mix of bittersweet and semisweet chocolate (about 18 ounces worth) mixed with cream and a bit of vanilla...I'll post the recipe later today for your enjoyment. The kahlua custard sauce is also a must, and I shall post that, because one cannot have one's chocolate slab without kahlua custard sauce. :)

Reading about all the excellent food you're eating is making me hungary! I'm living off cheerios, rice, and spagetti until I go home :(. I find that I never out-grow pensive contemplation!
