I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the story. But, alas, as the writer I can say for sure that they aren't real. And an interesting take you have on the Van Helsing characters. I've never looked at them as either Ivan or Patrick, but I think I can see why one would. I came up with Ivan and Patrick long before I'd seen or even heard of Van Helsing, but I was also thrilled to watch a movie that had both vampires and werewolves, just like Underworld. It's just a subject that fascinates me, hence why I came up with Ivan and Patrick in the first place.
