I find it amusing, ironic, and gratifying that, now I have given up on diets and calorie counting and obsessing over my weight... I am losing weight steadily and slowly, about half a pound a week average ( Read more... )

I will. Max was a fine old dog, the most easygoing, placid, and well-behaved creature I've ever had the pleasure of walking with. He is and will be greatly missed. *tears*

(((Beth))) and yes, SQUEE! indeed! I'm down to 312. *happy dance*

Excellent! Sometimes life is like that. And dogs do help a lot! Sorry about Max. Sigh...looks at Trinity and sighs again.

Hooray for awesome, steady progress. Changing habits and keeping them changed is much harder than going On A Diet, but much better in the long run.

The scale is not my metric (it does my head in, frankly!) but I'm right there with you trying to eat better and move more and slowly slimming down.

It's funny, isn't it, how sometimes "doing the right thing" sneaks up on you when you're not paying attention? Congrats on the healthier lifestyle! I've developed a liking for smoothies for breakfast - I put a carton of (fat-free vanilla) yogurt in the freezer when I get up, then just before I leave for work 2 hours later I run it, a banana and a couple of ounces of oj through the blender. If I have fresh strawberries a couple of those go in, and at the end I throw in a couple tablespoons of peanut butter. I figure there's little fat and sodium involved and a lot less calories than a 'real' breakfast, and it keeps me satisfied till lunch. Plus I'm getting a dairy and fruit serving.

Sorry to hear that Max has gone into the West. That's always hard to deal with. People keep asking when we're getting another dog, but we're not ready for it yet.
