Are you near sighted? Because there can come a time when your prescription is so strong, you won't be able to see up close with your glasses anymore! I hit that point, and now it's bifocals for me! Luckily now they make them without those lines, so no one knows. And with contact lenses, you can get one lens for far vision, one for close, and can see everything. I love that!

I'm not really sure where I fall in the definitions of sightedness... I can see fine except for reading, but apparently one of my eyes is much weaker than the other, so I get headaches because it has to work harder. I have never worn glasses before Jan 2 of this year, (not counting over-the-counter reading glasses) so I don't know if it is my eyes or the prescription of glasses that is the problem.

Maybe my eyes are just so shitty that they are failing faster than they can make lenses for me :(

Blood sugar levels can affect vision dramatically. Especially when readings change markedly over a short period of time, such as achieving very tight control of levels after they run wild for a while. This could be happening to you. As blood sugar levels stabilize, so will vision.

I know when my readings were high, my vision was blurry; when under control, vision was much better. I could always tell when levels were high by how well I could see.

That is good to know! I'll try to add to my blood sugar notes how my eyes are working... see if I can detect the changes.

Thanks for the suggestion! *hugs*

I got new lenses last summer. I was thisclose to having to go to computer glasses and non-computer glasses, which would be a major pain in the posterior at work. But, lo and behold, some wonderful European company came out with a lens designed for nearsighted people who have become farsighted & who have to pay for the peanut butter & the Diet Coke by working on a PC 8 hours a day.

Expen$ive, even with my vision insurance. Well, that & the $300 freaking dollar frames I had to have. If what you're getting doesn't work out, let me know & I can give you the manufacturer of the lenses.

I don't really mind the wrinkles & the gray hair. But, could I please have my vision back to what it was in 1997, please?

Diabetes can change your eyes in significant ways, so you want to keep a record of sorts of how/if your eyesight changes. But you're doing all the right stuff, sweetie, so hopefully that change will be kept to a minimum.

I just had to get new ones too, two pairs - I'm excited to be able to see!

Love you, sweets - thought I should tell you. ♥

I'm really hoping that Dr W has got on to the right 'script. She said that I should be able to see as clear with the new glasses as I did through her owl machine (that's what I call that device in my head)... but that's what the other doc said, too. :I

(((toxie)))Love you too. And your icon! :D

I hear you! I would totally get my eyes lasered if I could afford it (and I guess I'd find a way), but they won't laser my eyes since I'm legally blind in one of them and they consider me monocular and too much of a risk. So I have resorted to wearing my glasses to drive and taking them off the rest of the time so I can see what is directly in front of me. Of course, someone standing five feet away is a total blur, but oh well, lol.

I can't believe two doctors could come up with such radically different results for your prescription! I hope this one works out well!
