So I have an Audible account that I use to download audiobooks to listen to while I knit. It started as a two week trial offer, and then I just never canceled it. I got one free book (2nd Sookie Stackhouse book, but I don't want to read the next one because then I'll get ahead of True Blood) and then paid for a month and downloaded the latest Dan ( Read more... )

Holy freaking moses that is the most beautiful and complicated shawl I've seen in a long time. My poor hat cannot compare in any way :p

I LOOOOOOOVE choice one. Buy them before it is too late! Do it! They are the best and most suited for that project, methinks.
I don't know how many beads are in 1 oz, though. If you go with that choice, maybe contact the seller and ask them.

And thanks for the tip about that audiobook web site. I have been wanting to get some audiobooks for a while now because I want to use them for running and knitting. As for suggestions, hmm..... I haven't read bany books in a while, unfortunately. I really like The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula LeGuin and also Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (The movie Blade Runner is based off of it). I read those in my scifi class. They are pretty mainstream when it comes to scifi so if you like them, lemme know and I'll recommend some crazier ones for you :)

Thanks! This is my first circular shawl, and I really like working on it, although it's moving pretty slowly so far. I ended up going with completely different beads from any of the ones that I posted, haha. I liked choice 1 but I almost felt they were too dark. Plus they were a lot more expensive than the other ones because I would have had to buy more since it included less.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will probably go with one of yours. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is like word for word the original, with random zombies thrown in. Kinda lame I think.

I heard a lot of my friends really enjoyed P&P + zombies... but it's totally not my thing :p I hope you like the scifi stuff though.

I'm curious which audiobooks you've enjoyed recently. I want to add to my collection, but I don't know where to start. I just downloaded some classic scifi audiobooks from authors I know I like, but I really want to read something different. What's good out there?
And I also don't use the audiobook web site, I just get the torrents.

Thanks. I really love Pride and Prejudice but I'm just not sure how I feel about adding zombies to the mix! lol. The site didn't have the Ursula LeGuin book but they do have the blade runner book. I will probably get it. I wanted to get the book Ally mentioned but they are charging twice as much for that one. ridiculous. I didn't even think about torrents!!! Tory downloads tons of stuff from them (I don't use them) so I should ask him to get me some from there, and then I could cancel this membership. What a good idea ( ... )

I'm useless on the book front, because the last book I read was Harry Potter. Seriously, I'm a slacker. Scott likes The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, though.

I also like choice one for the beads. I don't think they're too dark. In fact, I kind of think the others are too light. :)

Thanks! :) I did like choice 1 but I decided to go with something that wasn't even in this post...choice 1 was a bit expensive because of the mix. I do think the colors that I picked are lighter though, because I didn't want black and I couldn't find a good shade of dark gray (plus I didn't want them to blend in too much). I think I got a light pearly gray with some slight color variations, if I remember correctly :)
