Races that define Classes

So to keep this community a bit active, I thought I would post some more discussion pieces for us to mull over. This week it's which races particularly define which classes? Meaning, which races seem to best fit the paticular standards of each class. Here is my break down of the situation ( Read more... )

In the case of Wardens, while they feel very much like "Rangers without the Dunedain racial requirement," I'd have to say that hobbits fit the class archetype just as easily. Heck, the Bounders are practically Wardens already in all but name; give them their traditional club (which Wardens do get a bonus with) and the "citizen-soldier" motif of the Warden fits right into place. (Bounders = "protect the boundaries." Wardens = "patrols the wards." A difference that makes no difference is no difference ( ... )

When it comes to Lore-masters, I quote what Turbine quotes "This only would he say, that Imladris was of old the name among the Elves of a far northern dale, where Elrond the Halfelven dwelt, greatest of lore-masters." I guess what I see in Lore-masters is the recording of time and knowing the world which I just think elves are better particularly ones that descended and lived with the Noldor. The Wood elves I would agree with that they do not seem like the Ivory-tower type but the Elves of Lindon, Rivendell and Lothlorien are ones that seem like ivory tower types ( ... )

I wish I could answer this better but it's been so long since I've read the books >.< I can say that I made my woman hunter of Dale in memory of Bard, slayer of Smaug ;)

For elves, anything "magical" and mystical (like lore-masters and rune-keepers...although a human rune-keeper would be awesome, but alas) but also as hunters as well. For Men I'd say more along the lines of the warrior types like Guardians, Champions and also Captains. They can also be Lore-masters, too, which is neat but I haven't played any as a Man.

I'd give "Burglar" over to the men, personally. They're more roguish by nature.

I agreed with everything you said, though I think wardens could also lend themselves to dwarves. :)
