I LOVE THIS!!!!! So moving, so sad, and then there's the happy ending, even for Doreen. I like how you threw in the fan fic stuff, too. I'm not married, but I can see how a husband could become so jealous of it, and if he's a psycho to begin with, this could easily be the result. You wrote the whole scenario so very well! Harry has never been one of my favorite "characters", but you've made me like him more now by making him one of the "knights in shining armor", along with Karl whom I already liked anyway. All thru it all I felt SO BAD for Doreen! Your physical description of her is me almost exactly, and I could feel what she was feeling. I'm glad that none of them blamed her, and that she ended up becoming friends with Craig, Harry, and Karl. The way she did her best to take care of all of them was so sweet and mothering, especially in the midst of her own pain and supreme embarrasment. Poor Craig, being there so long. I felt so bad for all of them, really. Viggo watching his friend get shot, not knowing that it wasn't a bullet, ( ... )

You're very welcome, hon, and thank you for your wonderful comments. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it and that I did a good job for you with your prompt.

I was never much into Harry either until a friend of mine started writing him. I mean, seriously, who the heck is Harry Sinclair? LOL! And even in Rings he was onscreen for a total of like forty seconds if you put all three movies together (and did he even have any lines besides a battle cry or two?) so it's pretty weird when you think about it that he's made a place for himself at all in fanfic fandom. And so little is known about him -- there are hardly any pictures of him on the net, he does very few interviews, and he's usually behind the camera rather than in front of it -- that pretty much everything about him is "fanon" if not actually made up by individual writers for their individual stories. But in a way it gives us a lot of freedom to use him however we need to, so he definitely comes in handy at times. :)

Thanks again! [hugz]

I just finished reading and wanted to say a quick thank you for sharing.

Of course I found the story very hard to stomach, esp. the second part, but you wrote it really well, all the heavy bits nicely balanced by tenderness. I loved the beginning; it's just nice to imagine everyone being in such close contact, like the Beatles in 'Help' or like Star Trek. I also really liked the very ending.

So, thank you again!

You're very welcome, hon. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it and that it wasn't too much. That's what I was hoping -- that the balance between a realistic description of what that sort of situation would be like and the way the boys were dealing with it and trying to take care of each other, what little they were able, would make it bearable. And the back-and-forth cuts between scenes in the basement and the ones outside with Harry and Karl would even things out some, give the readers a chance to breathe. I'm glad it worked for you. It's indeed a very dark story, but what stays with me most is the caring the Fellowship and friends have for each other. I'd like to think they indeed keep an eye out for each other and look after one another. The sleeping arrangements sound just what they need after what they've been through.

Thanks for sharing.

I like that too, when I run into it in stories, moreso than sex I think. I'm glad you picked up on it and enjoyed it here. :D

Good lord, that was powerful! I'm going to need to let that sink in a bit before I can leave any coherent feedback.

Thanks so much, hon. I'm glad to hear the suspense worked, even though it wasn't a classic "whodunit" past the middle or so. I'm glad you liked it. :D
