Reading the first two chunks I thought both of them needed their heads bashed together, but luckily they both smartened up by the end. Nice one. :)

I quite agree about the temptation to juxtapose their heads rather violently. ;) I didn't want either of them to be The One That Had It All Right, or The One That Was Totally Wrong, so I'm very happy that you saw it that way!

Thank you so much for reading this. I'm quite delighted when you comment on my stories, even though I've been terribly slow to respond this month.

Oh, this is such lovely feedback! I don't think I've ever been more chuffed about a particular comment (or compliment) than the one you've given me here. I'm so, so glad that this worked for you in this way, and that you were able to believe and feel those emotions through this story. A writer can receive no higher compliment than to hear from a respected reader that they have achieved what they set out to do, especially when it concerns deep and abiding subject matter.

Thank you so much!

Oh oh oh...this is wonderful. Loved how they both fear the same thing... losing control, allowing someone else so deep, deep enough that their rejection could cut you to shreds. Love how they finally got over it and decided to trust their hearts to each other. Adored it!

And and...Billy putting down his bag and just reaching for Dom... *melts*

I am thrilled to bits that you liked this! Thank you very much for the prompt. It was something that I was scared to write, but knew that I should, and I am deeply grateful to you for putting it out there. Thank you also for picking up so comprehensively on their fears and feelings. I'm glad those things came through in the writing, and that they worked for you.

Hee! I also liked Billy reaching for Dom that way. I get the feeling that they've had their bits of difficulty in RL, but that they always work it out (so far, at least) and that commitment to keep their friendship going is its own love story.

On another note, thank you for your patience with my lateness in these stories. I hope you won't mind if I participate in future rounds.
