Guy talking on mobile: "Har du fina skor?" (Translation, "Do you have nice shoes?")
He needed to borrow some dress shoes to go with his suit for a job interview.
Me, to myself: "Yes, I have nice shoes. Too bad I can't wear a single damn one of them, at least in pairs."

Walking woes
Well, this last week since I've been back in Stockholm has been full of ups and downs. I quickly learned how much I had been relying on mom for "simple" things like meals, etc. Funny how you get hungry when there is no one to bring you dinner. stockholm update
Well, I've been back in Stockholm for a total of about 24 hours, the greater part of which were spent sleeping. I left Tuesday morning Idaho time and arrived Wednesday morning Stockholm time. Thankfully, I had wheelchair assistance all the way through the airports in Salt Lake City, Newark, and Stockholm. This was a difficult journey at 7 weeks ( Read more... ) -

any last minute requests for u.s. consumer goods before i do some shopping tomorrow? i'm stocking up on american strength decongestants, burt's beeswax lip balm, and ziplock bags. carmex and lemon jello for idahoswede, check. sparkly, cinnamon gum for a_lost_marianne, check (if i can figure out what its called). cleareyes for miss_stockholm and shout wipes for miz_december, check. anyone else? i am a prolific eater of cheese.
as i told someone tonight, a growling stomach + aching foot do not a good night's sleep make. cheese proceeds pain pills, which proceed sleep. sleep is good, and a rare commodity. what am i talking about? i have a surplus of sleep these days, just not at the times when most normal people slumber ( Read more... ) -
