This is to let anyone who is trying to reach me know that my laptop had file system corruption that led to the RC scripts going away (thanks for the rundown, Matt!). All that means to me is a non-working laptop which is saddness in it's purest form . ;) I think I am going to live, but it appears as though maybe that new laptop is closer than I

I would highly recommend looking here or perhaps here. I think you would truly love an iBook.

While it does look very nice that's not the primary reason. I think you would find MacOS to be a pleasure to work with. As cliche' as it may sound, things tend to "just work" with no tinkering.

The price is also pretty reasonable for a laptop. Be careful though. I know Matt is a huge proponent for linux and open source, but he may still develop laptop envy... hehe.
