I need to die misunderstood.

Well, since my only prompt for drunk fic-writing was for Death/Satan fic, I've decided to do something else! Just this morning I got my grubby mits on CE's film Shallow Grave, so, once I'm at least a Woodchuck and a half into the afternoon, I will drunk live-post it. Live-posting has helped me through The Thing, The Fly, and The Omen ( Read more... )

I have seen that movie like three times, and I still hate every character in it. They're all awful manipulative dicks and it's all so grim and eighties. I think it's probably like the British version of American Psycho or something, and it's all deeply meaningful about society at the time and how ruthless everyone was, but...I really don't care, they're all awful. I mean I don't even care about David going nuts, because he's as big a douche as the other two in the beginning, and then the scene where they all turn on each other is just too much for me.

But anyway...I guess I appreciate it existing because it's the precursor to CE being in 28 Days Later and I do like that one. And I do like Danny Boyle in general, just jeez, this movie bums me out.

Yeah. They have glimmers of decentness every now and then, but it never lasts.

It's nice that CE so often seems to have such good relationships with directors that they give him more, even better roles.

Maybe the fact that I know where everything ends up makes it hard for me to see even the glimmers.

Yeah, the best thing about the 28 Days Later role is that from what I heard, he took it as a favor to Danny Boyle. And Danny Boyle has some really lovely things to say about him in the commentary.

I'm sure they'll seem even crappier when I watch it again.

Oh jeez, it's been a long time since I listened to the 28 Days Later commentary. Might have to rearrange my queue again...
