Author's note: This was actually a bit I wrote for a flashback in my fic Schisms, but I am not sure it will fit. And I quite like it as a drabble. It can stand alone, but if you have read the fic it will have extra meaning. ;)
Kara rubs her belly and hums quietly to herself.
He’s in there-her son. Shifting and turning; sometimes kicking. Growing.
She knows it’s a boy because the doctor told her so. He's Lee’s son too, but she tries not to think about that anymore. Lee’s gone, like Zak.
Soon, he will be ready to come out and meet the world. Despite her fears, she’s looking forward to it.
She’s not sure how she’ll manage with a baby and the money from the sale of her mother’s house about to run out... but at least she will no longer be alone.
