It's not a smart arsonist that gets trapped in their own fire, right? And an arsonist that puts cats and people at risk? Hmmm. They might be on their own in my book. I would tell firefighters that someone is in there but I don't know if I'm putting my life at risk for someone who tried to kill me!

If the arsonist did get saved though, I would then turn him/her over to your husband and distract the authorities for a few minutes. :-)

I say let the bastard burn. Anyone who deliberately sets fire to someone's home knows they're destroying not only your safe haven but all of your personal belongings that CAN'T be replaced, and are putting people and pets at risk. Burning is too good for them. If the firemen want to save them, that's their call. I'd let them fry.

Interesting question. I think I go with human life then belongings and then the arsonist. Why would I try to save someone first who intentionally set fire to my home. Then I'm sure I would find something sharp while the family talked to the authorities and have "close" moment with the fire-starter.
