Two weeks ago I found out a really good friend is dying of lung cancer. I have been completely preoccupied with her and her situation ever since. No surprise. I cry when I'm: walking the dog, taking a shower, driving and just before I fall asleep. And I pretend nothing is wrong everywhere else. Especially with her ( Read more... )

Yes, I'd say you have passed on to anger. Most certainly. You've already answered your question about the stages, and the survivors go through it too. Sometimes you want to give the person a call and then remember they're gone.

It sucks, its not fair, it does ever become fair. My grandmother died from pancreatic cancer. I went through the stages pretty quick. I work in health care, at Kaiser no less, I knew the diagnosis and I knew the outcome.

The next step I believe is acceptance. But don't worry too much about the rest of it. Breathe, take care of yourself and share as much time with your friend as you can.
