I tried to edit out some things in the original lists I found which were totally specific to, say, the St. Lawrence Seaway area, because I wanted to make a more general, as opposed to tremendously specific, list. So it probably looks more problematically generic than it originally was; I also tried to put some more Utica-specific stuff in there . So my intent wasn't to make, say, the Glens Falls region into Albany...

In college, we used to keep ice cream on the windowsill between the window and the screen
The space was just the right size for pints of Ben & Jerry's, too! (fond nostalgia)

Regarding not knowing how to hike: The Forest People did have some stories of students from The City going on their first trip up Pine Hill in heels or expensive clothes they were afraid to get dirty. Some people really don't know what to make of a dirt path in the woods.
