heee actually you cant copright a clothing design. or a pattern (set of instructions/blueprints). but you CAN copyright a PATTERN...that is, a repeating design. but if you change it slightly you can still rip it off with no legal repercussions <3
unless of course like you say your design has function...then it's more of an invention and can be copyrighted maybe...i'm not sure XD
