Day 15: Your Favourite Tumblrs

Don't follow Tumblr - but here are some vids I like.

English comedian Russell Howard sums up British newspapers - "If only Diana were here!" and "You just killed a polar bear - YOU!!"

Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel singing 'Confrontation' from Les Miserables - it is Legen - wait for it - DARY

Literal Harry Potter Trailer - does what it says on the tin.  "Huge shiny P, then more letters come out!"

Dead Ringers - parody of BBC's Robin Hood - I think the other parts are funnier but this was the only one I could find - although the guy playing the Sheriff does a pretty good Keith Allen impersonation - "To be continued...innit"

"The worst place in the world to be gay" - This one's not funny - BBC Radio1 DJ Scott Mills went to Uganda, where homosexuality is illegal - I do recommend the whole doco, but this excerpt features Scott admitting to a preacher that he is gay - something the preacher clearly did not expect.

Day 16: Your views on mainstream music

I don't mind mainstream music - although I think there's too much dance that all sounds the same nowadays.  But I suppose it ebbs and flows - guitar and band music was in a few years ago, now its r&b and dance, who knows what it will be next.  I know people are decrying modern music because of stuff like that 'Friday' song, but really, if that song had been released by Lady Gaga people would be raving about how 'avant-garde' it was.

I think modern music is like music from any generation - there are fantastic songs destined to become classics and there is just trash as filler for the top 40.

Day 17: You high and low points for the last year

Highs: Deciding on and planning my holiday to the US - doing well at uni and getting a few nice payrises at work (yay!) - watching my little puppy grow up and become a crazy, crazy dog (because who wants a boring pet anyway?) - finally getting some work on my garden done, putting some flowers in and growing some herbs.  Spending my 25th b-day in Melbourne, seeing Mary Poppins and eating amazing food at a hatted restaurant.  Seeing Wicked (again).

Lows: My Aunty dying rather suddenly from cancer - that was a pretty low point and still getting used to not having her around for family functions.  Not getting enough fic written and realising that I started writing a fic FOUR years ago and it remains unfinished.
