What she and all of Mayfield needs right now is a good infusion of the ( Read more... )

[he stares at her, looking like a grumpy child who got woken up too early in the morning.]

Perfectly, and annoyingly, clear, thanks.

Ohh..... I see.

[not really, but you're a pretty girl, so he won't argue.]

I like your poster. Who's flag is that in the middle?

Communism?

[Itachi attempts to dodge the whole poster-down-yo-shirt deal, without hurting Vietnam in the process. He gets a papercut on the chest for his trouble.]

I am aware of the danger. However, I find "Lucy" more dangerous than the Postman.

[O-oh, sorry about that. But red is a nice, good Communist color, so you should be proud, okay!]

It is a trap both ways, isn't it...? We hear one phone call, and suddenly, everyone is so excited to vote...

I have nothing to be excited about. It's a choice between death and enslavement.

[Stupid stingy papercuts. But he's had worse.]

Well... if you want to be morbid about it. [considers this.] Though I think I agree. [WELL THEN.]

[gonna assume that it's invisible like Kakyoin's stand- if not, correct me and I'll repost!

as it is, Vietnam blinks, going still.] Aah... I remember what Kakyoin said. You can use that power too, right? [she tries to gently ease her wrist away.]

[Chizuko's come to most of the same conclusion, although not in her colorful, dramatic, Marxist speech.]

I said mostly the same thing over the phones. I do not think our salvation will lie in any particular ideology though.

You must consider the possibility. There is a lot of anti-communist sentiment in this town meant to discourage us from it... One has to wonder why.

We are in America. Before I arrived here, a senator named McCarthy was stirring the public into an anti-Communist frenzy. It would be more odd if such sentiment didn't exist here.
