I didn't hear anything about a soundtrack thing.

I think it's awesome that you didn't change your name!!! Way to stand your ground and you're right, it does look a lot like syphilis! ;)

I'm glad that you were able to write a letter to Josh voicing your opinion without being crazy. I think you wrote everything wonderfully and in a nonoffensive way so I don't think he'll be too upset. But that was a dirty little trick he did. :-/

You know, I don't think he even realizes what he was doing. I think he was honestly just trying to get me a copy of the cd, and I thought since he was talking to me about it that he would have said something to you all about the soundtrack.
I don't know, I was very upset for a while, I didn't know really what to think. B/c there was conflicting thoughts swirling around in my head. Like Josh has never been one to push his opinions on us, you know? But when I was talking with these guys, they were like, "Well, your friend obviously thought of you and that you would benefit most from this experience," something along those lines.
After thinking on it for a while I decided that this was just some generalized line they give to encourage curiosity and not that they meant that Josh found me spiritually lacking and needing guidance.

Awww, Josh. This issue was done a long time ago, so you needn't worry about it. The original post didn't even happen until a day or two after meeting them. After my initial therapeutic cry I had logged onto LJ and began a really long rant aimed at you and the missionaries, but I deleted it because I had the missionaries' dialogue on a loop in my mind and was analyzing what they were saying. I was surprised at just how much they must have been trained just as you had despite being across the country. They pretty much said the same things and used the same analogies word for word that you once told us, like the whole 'Mormons see the whole picture of Jesus, not not just his beard or nose like other denominations do.' So with that in mind I convinced myself that a lot of the other things they were telling me, like them speaking for you and saying that you had thought of me as needing religious guidance, were set lines for them to use when meeting resistance ( ... )
