LMAO! You are totally adorable!

And I do understand, although I much prefer your second listed song, to your first. *g*

Thanks! It's kind of sad I find him so creepy and repulsive now, because there are one or two Jackson 5 songs (NOT ABC) that might fit.

Hahahaha! That's awesome (and a bit scary it's your "happy" song! *lol*).

You reminded me of one of mine - for obvious reasons. *g*

"It's a girl my lord in a flatbed Ford, slowin' down to take a look at me!"

Totally one of my faves. I have a playlist on my iPod called "Happy" and it has a rotating list of my current favorite happy songs. Right now it includes:

"Obli Di Obla Da" - The Beatles
"Diddle Daddy" - Chris Isaak
"Good Time" - Leroy
"Birdhouse in Your Soul" - They Might Be Giants
"Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" - Looking Glass
"Mr. Brightside" - The Killers

I'm always intrigued when people list Mr Brightside as one of their happy songs. I love the song but I always find it deeply nostalgic for some reason - and, well, really quite sad. I've only found one other person who feels the same way about it! What makes it "happy" for you if you dont mind me asking?

No, I get that, too. :)

I like it because even though it's about a relationship that goes south, the core message is that life goes on and you have to get the fuck over it. :)

I tend to have a pretty strong reaction to music; if I like it any song that fits the moment has the power to make me incredibly happy or incredibly sad. These three songs are the ones that I could think of at the moment but I'm sure there are more! (90s dance music also makes me v. happy but not in a sing-along way.)

Seven Days in the Sun - Feeder

Inner Smile - Texas

Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader

Um, okay...I like the first song, but the video's horribly depressing! *lol*

But your first two totally reminded me of some more of mine:
Luce - Good Day
(Sadly this is a live version and they seem bored.)

Swing Out Sister - Break Out

Your third song's hot, too, but I prefer the original, by King Harvest (probably just a generational thing. ;P).

Oh the video is terrible! Its much better played loud in the car on a sunny day :)

I've never heard the Luce song before but I love it! I'd heard the Swing Out Sister one before; its okay but possibly more a grower? And I didnt realise Toploader covered that song...I feel cheated now. :P

Oh, Luce are wonderful, but I do prefer the studio version, which I normally don't.

And please don't feel bad - from what I read much of British youth thought...oh, crap, I can't remember their name, now...anyway, many people in your area thought this was their original song (kind of like when people thought Guns-n-Roses had written Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Heaven's Door *lol*).

If you haven't been exposed to the original there's no reason for you to know. And like many people of my generation, I wrongly thought the song was by Van Morrison! Sounds a lot like him. :)
