If it makes you feel any better, I heard that oral allergies aren't fatal like other food allergies...if your throat's not swellin', you're good. Keep in mind, however, that I only heard this in passing, and most likely from Edwin, who's not reliable as we all know :P

My dad and brothers all have the same itchy mouth problem as you, but with almost any kind of fruit instead...weird.
