I'm glad you enjoyed this. Yes, kids can be so incredibly perceptive. I like the idea that Cody, given his not particularly easy early life, can still speak from such an open and uncynical place and in doing so comes out with something so real.

I'm starting a writing class in a couple of weeks (a FANFICTION writing class whooo-hooo!) and may do a spin on this idea as well. Like a essay Cody has to read in school. Just thinking about it at this point... I'll see how the class goes!

Sounds like a good idea. The idea of Cody writing some sort of homework assignment about Zach & Shaun crossed my mind at one point but it didn't quite fit where I was trying to go. But it would be really awesome though :D

I like looking at Zach and Shaun through Cody's eyes, you did a great job! I so loved Cody and Zach saying "I love you" to each other.

Awesome line here-"Shaun said no, it was because Zach shouldn’t apologize for being who he is and he is awesome” I can totally picture Shaun saying those words!!
