To be able to sleep--you need to MAKE YOURSELF get up at like 9-10ish for like 2 days in a row. Yeah, it's going to suck and you're going to be super crabby, but by the time 1am rolls around you'll fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow. Trust me. Do that before any meds...meds just give you a mask. If you still have problems falling asleep after being awake since EARLY in the morning, then consider seeing a doctor.
No, I totally agree with the whole "no meds" idea. Where I have a problem is with waking up in the morning. If I were to set my alarm that early, I would just sleep right through it... and then I would actually manage to oversleep for work, which is a pretty stupid thing to say when you work at 2pm.... All I was looking for was to be able to fall asleep sooner to kickp-start that whole process.
