What I would like to know is this....What is your favorite romantic movie and why.  Or if there is no movie then book or story. I need some ideas on how to be romantic, for my new Lady. My ideas just aren't cutting it, or rather, my romance skills are in need of some shining. Please help me out. Or even tell me what exactly does make a romantic ( Read more... )

The first thing you can do to impress her is to treat her like a lady. Feeling respected is so important. I always loved that you never forgot to open the car door for me. Find out the places she likes to go, the things she likes to do....Things like quiet little bars where you can talk quietly without having to shout over the music, maybe, or a quaint little restaraunt. Is she a tactile person? Little things like brushing her hair out of her eyes (if her hair is long enough for that?) touching her cheek or her hand for just a second, to show her that you enjoy talking to her, and listening to her, and being in contact ( ... )

I thought if I was doing the wooing, my wants and needs didn't really matter. What if she is afraid of what I want??

If she finds out things that you like too, then you can come to a compromise and find things you both like. Also, she will understand when you take off to do something she is not as fond of. It is a two way street, you both have to enjoy what you are doing.

Oh, DUH...I forgot to post about the original question!!

Movies....The Notebook, Bridges of Madison County, Fried Green Tomatoes, anything with a romantic feel to it.

Books...I think I will have to think on this one for a bit....

Tis okay, as you have helped me a lot today. Kept my feet on the ground, and my head from expanding. I will have to watch FGT again, has been awhile since I last saw it.

Get back to me on the book part. I think I need to work on my fantasy and imagination a bit too. Any help with those??

You are so sweet for saying so!! I do need to work on the fantasy thing. I started reading these books by, who was it Anne Cauley or something like that. I need to work on being creative.

I don't know if I really count as a good source for such things... but about clothes and such, you should talk to people around you that are artistic or have a good sense of fashion... ask them what colors look good on you and go to department style stores. Look for the mannequins with those colors... that could help.

If I knew more what you looked like, I could definitely give you better ideas, but these are starters :D

Thank you so much. I am a real piece of work!! Didn't think of the mannequin thing!! Awesome idea!!!

I think Pamela still has our wedding picks in one of her posts. Maybe she deleted them, not sure. But you probably don't want to see, as then you would fall madly in love with me!!! LOL

Hehe! Sorry Lou, but I'm already taken by the most wonderful, beautiful, best girl in the world, as seen here. But I will see if Pamela has some pictures so I can get ideas :D

-hugs and positive thoughts, dear-

Thanks!!! You so rock!!!! I really have been out of the loop. Am scared too. This one really makes my heart go pitty pat and my stomach twist. I think they are good signs. But I am going to go pretty slow. Wouldn't want her to be a rebound. She's the sweetest thing, since cheese cake!!
