End of the U.S. ban on HIV-positive travelers

The 30th of July president Bush signed into law a multibillion-dollar AIDS relief bill that will lift a long-standing ban on HIV-positive foreign visitors and immigrants.

This ban was introduced in 1987, when people feared that this virus was passable person to person by casual way.

I'm surprised. This seems like the sort of issue that Republicans would be up in arms about. Given how this administration has appointed many people to posts based on ideological concerns, I wouldn't be surprised if the HHS decides not to life their ban. We'll see.

Thanks for posting about this. I hadn't seen it before.
