Just a note on U.S. politics... The American people in general do not want a "big war." Most of us don't want any war at all.

There are some incredibly insane individuals in this country.

I definitely agree with you :-)

My only concern regarding your country is the ability of your people to go twice for Bush.
Scary!
And now Mc Cain...
Even scarier,
But you know that better than me :-)

Now regarding Pas-problem comment, I find very interesting to have Russian view regarding the present conflict in Odessa. This comment is just the consequences of an old and new conflict between Russia and USA.
Hope it is ok for you. :-)

You're right, it is scary. The thing to keep in mind when forming opinions about America is how divided it really is. You have to remember that the popular vote DID NOT vote Bush into a second term, the Electoral College did. That means the majority of voting Americans did not want a second term of Bush.

Yeah, there's some sentiment that the Georgian conflict is symbolic of Cold War tensions. That combined with the missile defense contracts in Poland have made things shaky. I would like to think that in general, the popular opinion of the United States has moved beyond a Cold War mentality.
