so i still don't have an apartment. as of now, i have been to the final stages of getting one SEVERAL times only to have really really STUPID problems. for example, i do not understand why I'm supposed to verify that I make 3 times the monthly rent. Gah...don't get me started on the age discrimination thing. I'm so sick of it that I've even got an article on my desk at work, pointedly directed at some of my co-workers. ::sigh::

Unless you are trying to rent a four bedroom house, the "I want a family to live here" thing is dumb as well as illegal. I've got a couple of friends our age living in the Long Beach area (that is where you're at right now, right?) who found apartment complexes that had no trouble renting to non-family, post-college kids who have lived in different locations and held different jobs in the past several years, and who are definitely not making three times their rent. If you want, I can hit them up for the info on their complexes and see if they'd give you a recommend to their landlords. Let me know.
