So I had to print up a review of Grapes of Wrath from when it was published in 1939 for my Great Depression paper.  On my copy of a review from the Chicago Tribune there is a side article that I found amusing:

The Tribune's Platform for Illinois and Chicago
-End the Parole Business
-Build Deathproof Highways
-Make Chicago the First City in the World

Hmm. I wonder if using rubber or something bouncy would work? I would think they would also want to build deathproof cars, maybe like bumper cars?
