Anyway, welcome to my bi-yearly decision to do Yuletide! I'm looking forwards to what you choose to write, but I thought I'd put a few words down about what it is that I'd particularly like. I meant to have it up earlier, but well, I didn't. Apologies!
First off: across-the-board things I dislike. I put them in the signup, but I'll put them down again here. I don't want or like incest, a/b/o fic, or lifestyle d/s kind of stuff. No rape or non/dub-con either. Those are the hard boundaries for me, and I don't want them in my story. Basically, I don't tend to like heavy power imbalances (teacher/student, coach/athlete, age gaps of over 20 years, etc)- just not my thing. I also think I forgot to put it in there, but no mpreg, please! I'm also not particularly into hooker AUs or high-school or college AUs (but I like other kinds!) Also, as all my requests are RPF, and most of these people have actual wives/girlfriends, I don't want any bashing of them. I don't particularly mind if you pretend they don't exist, but don't make them evil/unsympethetic/what-have-you.
What I do like, generally, is probably a lot more stuff. Off the top of my head: playful rivalry, repressed/uptight sorts beocming less repressed/uptight, sexual tension and the resolution thereof, wide casts of characters, passionate relationships, opposites attracting. I'd like a slash story, because that's what I like. And of course, the details of the requests...
Request One: Bayern Munich RPF, Philipp Lahm/Xabi Alonso
Philipp Lahm is my everything. A particular favorite of mine- I love his combination of adorable charm and steely reserve, his intelligence, his ability to maneuver himself into the best possible position, his hints of vulnerability. He's one of my favorite 'characters' of football fandom, and I have to admit, ever since Xabi Alonso signed for Bayern I've been curious to see how they get along. They're both deceptiively determined players, and both intelligent ones as well. So signing up for this was a no-brainer.
I've been around the fandom long enough to have memories of Philipp Lahm/Timo Hildebrand, as well as Steven Gerrard/Xabi Alonso (but you don't have to be around very long for that), and I'd love something that deals with both Philipp and Xabi's romantic pasts. Of course, it's not necessary- I'd love anything in this pairing, to be honest.
Request Two: German National Football Team
Any Germany is good Germany. They're my favorite, they've been my favorite since 2006, those ridiculous dorks have captured my heart. Since I love them all, I'm not all that picky about what you want to do with them. (Preferring a slash story, of course.) As I mention above, Philipp's a particular favorite of mine, but I'm also a long-time fan of Manuel Neuer, and really, I just like them all. I forget who was even in the tagset, so I'm not sure who else to mention. Bring in whoever isn't, even. The one thing I have to mention is that I'm not the biggest fan of Miroslav Klose/Thomas Müller, although I do like them separately. Other than that, go nuts!
Reqest Three: Tennis RPF, Roger Federer
Speaking of favorites. I don't even watch tennis, really, but I'm a big fan of Roger Federer. He's a delight. He's beautiful to watch (and I don't even watch tennis much!) and his character hits basically everything that I like to read about. Funny, intelligent, cultured, into fashion, fussy, repressed. It's all I like. I don't particularly care who he's paired with- I feel like most pairings work, so feel free to follow your muse with that. I would kind of like to see something unsual, though- it is Yuletide, after all! But as long as the focus is on Roger, I'm going to be happy.
