Among the Big Houses
My little ranch sits at the end of a long straight street. You go past the mansions as big as an apartment building. You go past the mansions that are just very big. You go past the 5-bedroom houses. The Body
Pretty sure it's taken me this long to accept that my body is perfectly fine and functioning as planned. 16-year-old me would not be capable of that.

Chocolate and coffee
I am so bitter my lunch consists only of dark chocolate and coffee.
Alright - not bitter so much as not sweet or rather older now which means it's both so bittersweet. Mmmm.

Thanks, musicians!
Not sure if it's the recent anniversary of Prince's death or the weather that puts me in the mood to say something about musicians, but (in any case) thank you to all musicians for their dedication, time, practice, and expressions. Tomorrow, I'm sure I'll be thanking the dancers.

Columbus
Columbus can smell like anything.
Once, East Broad smelled so much like ass
you'd think we had a New York subway.
All over downtown the tar brings in the scent of pier thrust
out into the Severn river, stinking of jelly fish
and leaked gas. After a storm
the broken limbs and swamp smell
can draw a person out, to mount
a bike and go round sniffing
