My Donna - take two

Mar 12, 2009 12:20

Back in the Buffy fandom there was a meme of sorts where everyone posted their take on their favourite character.

I started writing this last August so there are bit's some of you have seen before.  missbaxter even contributed her Wilf, who was spectacular from memory.  I don't think you'd call it complete in any way but I've had fun doing it.

This is my ( Read more... )

Firstly - how does your Donna take her tea?

Secondly - is her love of Terry's chocolate oranges stronger than mine?

Thirdly - Can you write the fic in which the Doctor does surprise her with one? I'd like to see that. :)

Firstly - she's learned to drink it strong and black because you know how offices are; everyone's got their name written on the milk and a tide line and NOBODY trusts the temps with anything. She prefers it milky though with two sugars.

Secondly - I don't know; it's pretty fierce!

Thirdly - Er, no. Sorry. I did write one last year where Donna raiding her mother's stash of Terry's figured. Does that count?

1. It's JUST like the staff room at uni! Though i have managed to hide my milk where no one can find it, so i can always be assured of a supply. In a pinch (like at work, where the filthy optoms eat everything and never replace it) i'll drink it black. Unhappily.

2. So's mine. Erm, but she has the slight advantage of age and Englishness so i'll concede defeat there (funnily enough, we ordered the parents/in-laws to buy crates of Terry's on their English holiday that's coming up. I think they think we weren't serious about the crates, but we really were.)

3. Dammit. Well, yes, i suppose it does. *pops off to read if it's up anywhere* Can i write the one where the Doctor surprises her then? :D

1. It's every staff room in every universe love.

2. Yours sounds pretty fierce too. I think you may win.

3. It's not very good, but you've shown me yours so...

Of course you can write that one! I'd be very happy to read that.

Thanks Lori. That's very nice of you to say. Did you ever do a 'My Anya' list? Now that's something I'd be interested in reading. [squeeze]

You're too nice, L. [hugs]

I never wrote that kind of list for just Anya. I wrote this list of canon moments which define My Anya, I wrote an essay about Anya as Dame, and I wrote a list of My Giles/Anya points like yours for Donna. :-)

[hugs again]

Oh my God Lori. You made me fall in love with them all over again! I could waffle on about how much I agree with you and quote yourself back to you but I'm just going to pinch Lesley's "Perfect". Thanks for showing me these.

Hello there lovely. Thanks for saying so. She's a bit special and I'm a tad obsessed.

I forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed the final Being Human. I think it's a keeper. There's going to be more, right?

I'd love to see what your Donna (or your Doctor, or Wilf or... well you get the picture) is like.

I teared up reading that you teared up, but I'm glad there was a bit of a laugh for you in there as well!

Oh, I love that! You really paint such a strong, vivid image of her! It reminds me of those pictures that are made up of tiny, individual pictures -- sorry, I'm having massive word fail trying to remember what you call them. *blush* It's like standing up close and seeing all these little snapshots of Donna, then backing up to see them form into one large portrait of her! \o/

My ship-loving heart *squeed* over these points in particular:

# Loves all the adventure of different planets and even the running but she also likes the time spent in between in the Vortex. Some days they can spend hours sitting in the library reading, drinking tea and not saying a word to one another. They used to start out on different chairs, now they both just head for the three seater although it seems to be getting smaller because one or the others legs end up draped over the other before too long. Neither seems to mind terribly much ( ... )

I know the thing you're talking about. It's not a collage is it? I'm having a bit of a senior moment myself trying to think of the word.

I'm glad your shippy-self found some squee-worthy points. I would really like to read your take on her or any other character that moves you. I have a feeling I'd be nodding my head in avid agreement.

I'm glad you enjoyed this and thank you for the lovely comments.
