gender and role confusion among students

in the last week i have been called:
Mr Lou Lou
Mrs Lou Lou
Mr Nutt
Sir

but this one takes the cake...

i just got called professor.

i understand that some international students struggle with the personal pro-nouns of he/she, her/him, mr/ms etc... but if i'm going to be called 'professor', i reckon i should get paid the same as a professor!!!

I get called sir fairly often, but Mr Lou Lou is fabulous!
