Lots of sirens

I've been sitting at home tonight watching Rome (good series, btw) and I think I must have heard a dozen or so ambulances going by. They all seem to be coming out of Woodland, cruising right down Poleline (Rd 102). They're likely headed to Sutter Davis, though why they're not using 113, I don't know. I didn't even know we had that many ( Read more... )

I heard nothing, and I have my windows open, so they didn't go down Russell. I probably wouldn't have heard them if they were going down Covell, though. No idea what it could be.

Loved Rome, though. Why is it all the good HBO shows are so short?

Rome's been great so far. I'm sorry to find that it gets only 2 seasons. I ahve a couple episodes left in season one and it looks like season 2 won't come out until august. Still, good series. Ditto on Deadwood. From what I hear, the series that the producers of DW moved onto is just plain weird.

I'm still holding out for a four-hour Deadwood finale, probably when John from Cincinnati is cancelled. I didn't watch it, but my wife said it was just too bizarre. This, for Deadwood? was all I could think of hearing her describe it. (From what I read online, he was willing to do another season of Deadwood while working on JfC, but the money guys didn't think he could do both, and cancelled DW to make him focus better. Don't know how true that is.)

Rome is soooo good though. However, I understand it not going longer-- not much happens after where they ended it, unless they do a big time jump. I think I deleted my TiVo'd episodes, I'm afraid, so I can't offer them to you to watch in advance of the DVD. I've still got the last season of Deadwood saved, though.

No word on the ambulances? I don't see anything on sacbee or any of the local news channels.

News 10 just had a short report at the end of their newscast about some kind of problem in Woodland. Seems that there was some kind of riot that started in the county morgue. They didn't have a lot of details, but they're guessing it's drug related or something. No word on if it's been entirely contained or what else is going on, but apparently a couple dozen people or so have been injured so far. Could be the cause of the sirens. Guess I'll look it up in the morning.
