I started feeling sick to my stomach on the way to work this morning. Things are settling down, but I'm not out of the woods yet. It was 11 degrees with a wind chill of 10 below when I walked to the shuttle this morning, and I haven't cooled down much in the two plus hours I have been in the office. I have an executive summary and a marketing paper to write today, yet I am here on LJ. Go figure. I spent most of yesterday in Bethesda, MD for a seminar entitled Writing and Managing Winning Proposals. The cost of the thing was $500 and I was sure it wouldn't be worth it. After a week and a half of sniffling, coughing, and sounding like a young boy, you would think this nasty thing would be on its way out. I have been going nonstop since 6:45 this morning. I am a little squeaky but much better than yesterday when I could barely utter a word. Going from the office, to my breakfast meeting, back to the office, to my doctor's appointment and returning to the office has me feeling pretty wiped out. Taking a sick day was not in my plans having recently started my new job, but today it must be done.
