The good news about this entire affair is that Cecil actually doesn't feel too strange in the costume she's wearing. She knows it is a gown and she understands that she's supposed to be a princess or a queen of some sort, but when a passerby called her 'Cinderella', she couldn't say she really knew what or who that they meant.

Nonetheless, she has been watching others observe this morbid holiday and she thinks she understands the point of what's going on around her now, at least as far as what the traditions consists of. She doesn't understand why people walk up to the rooms and scream something at the residents, who then in turn give them sweets instead of asking them not to shout so loudly, but she's willing to give it a try herself, so she knocks and when the door opens, she hesitates only for a moment before-

"...Trick or... treat?"

A lovely princess comes to Spain's door and he responds accordingly, sweeping down into a graceful bow that comes from a time long past. "I am honored to be in the presence of such a beautiful princess." It's a very sincere gesture, not mocking at all though it can be mistaken as such. Spain really does mean it, though, both the compliment and the bow.

The Spaniard in werewolf's clothing rises after a while and gives his royal visitor a smile as he holds out his bowl of sweets. "And here is your treat. Please take as much as you want."

Cecil is too naive to interpret his actions as anything but well-meaning, so she reacts with a sheepish smile and flushed cheeks. She's bewildered, but not so much that she forgets to mind her manners. The lady paladin returns the bow with a curtsy that obviously comes natural to her. Despite the costume, in her own world, she isn't royalty yet and an orphan knight bows to everyone.

"Thank you, sir," she says as she straightens back up to her full height and after a brief moment's hesitation, she picks out one piece of candy - only one. Her sense of propriety stops her from feeling comfortable about taking any more than that.

"You're welcome!" The Iberian Nation says with his usual cheer, but keeps on holding the bowl out towards the princess. "You're also welcome to take more. I think you're supposed to take as much as you want and I still have a lot so go ahead."

Her smile grows easier at that, but Cecil still regards the candy a bit warily. "I don't want to be selfish," she explains. "I have never tried any of this and it will simply go to waste if it doesn't agree with my tastes. I appreciate your generosity though."

"Oh." Spain blinks at that rather sound reasoning. "Well, that makes sense." And it does, really. It's better not to waste food after all. "You're welcome, then, and I hope you like it."

Spain balances the bowl in one hand as he holds a hand out to her for a handshake. "My name is Antonio. It's nice to meet you."

A civil introduction is genuinely rare here in the Hotel, so Cecil takes full advantage of it gratefully. She takes the proffered hand and shakes, giving just the smallest of curtsies again politely. "Likewise, Antonio. My name is Cecil Harvey. Few meetings between people are quite so... normal like this. I'm glad to be lucky tonight."

He smiles and gives her a firm and warm handshake before letting her hand go. It's indeed a civil introduction and Spain can understand the novelty of it here, where people are more inclined to grope you rather than shake your hand. "I'm glad too. It's nice to be close to people, yes, but a handshake is nice enough usually."

Cecil is about to respond when a gaggle of people turn the corner of the corridor and she's distracted by all the commotion as the group begins to hit the hotel rooms. They're not very far from Antonio's, she notices.

"Ah, it seems you're having more visitors soon," she says, watching the other adult trick-or-treaters move. She notices that all of the females are wearing much more revealing - and in some cases, just plainly less - costumes than she is and vaguely she wonders if the Hotel was playing some sort of prank on her for gifting her with a costume unlike most others'. It's hard not to be grateful for that though, considering.

No one can miss that crowd coming towards them given how noisy they are. Spain turns his head to see and also notices how skimpy the females' attires are. It's a complete contrast to what Cecil is wearing.

"So it seems." He tells her, giving her another warm smile. As far as he's concerned, she looks very beautiful and regal in her dress and it makes her stand out. "Would you like to stay and help me give out candy and cookies?" He finds himself asking somehow. He's not sure where it came from, but it's not really a bad idea if she consents to it.

The paladin is surprised by the offer, but as she considers it, she can't think of a reason to decline. He's kind and friendly and she never has experienced a Halloween before, so what would be the harm of it? She certainly doesn't need more candy.

"All right," she agrees to stay, nodding once as she looks back at Antonio and away from the throng of costumed people approaching. She feels a little bit excited to help, actually, and Cecil is nothing if not enthusiastic when it comes to helping others.

"Great." He gives her another cheerful grin and moves to hand her the bowl of candy. After getting the plate of pumpkin cookies he has prepared, he turns to her with a question as they wait for the trick or treaters to come by, "Have you ever celebrated Halloween before?" She seems a bit unsure about the event for some reason, so he just wants to ask.

Cecil takes the bowl and a step closer to the threshold, turning about so she's facing outwards towards the hallway now. She leans against the doorframe as she holds in front of her stomach her own pumpkin pail and the bowl with ease. When he asks her about her past holidays, she shakes her head.

"No. We do not have Halloween where I am from." The lady paladin tilts her head a little to one side in thought and eventually she elaborates, "No country on my world celebrates it or something similar."

Their conversation is interrupted when the trick or treaters come by and Spain gives away the candy with his usual bright smile and cheerful greetings.

He's naturally a people-friendly person and he enjoys interacting with the trick or treaters. Some of them are quite forward in their own greetings, staying true to the Hotel's purposes, but Spain only responds to their more amorous attentions with good sport and friendly cheer. To their disappointment, Spain doesn't seem to be overtaken by the aphrodisiac's effects quite yet.

For her part, Cecil responds more actively to the advances she receives; at first, she's content to let people touch the skirt of her dress, seeing it mostly as just harmless interest in the costume itself, but once roaming hands wander their way to her arms and waist, she resorts to moving out of their reach and pointedly nudging the other costumed guests away from her with a gloved hand of her own. It's not as scary to her as it is merely embarrassing, but her tactics work - at least until one of them gets a little bold and cups her chin between aggressive fingers before kissing her.

Spain, for all his obliviousness with regards to himself, is aware of how Cecil intently tries to ward off the trick or treaters advances. It's obvious enough how she does not enjoy them. So when one of the trick or treaters suddenly kiss her, Spain is inclined to step in.

"Now, now..." He starts, keeping his voice light and the smile on his face intact. He tries to come between them as carefully as possible, gently holding by Cecil's elbow and pulling her away just as he moves to push her aggressor away. "The Princess never gave you permission to kiss her."
