Haven't got me yet, Mr. Frye. [Her brows lift a bit, even as she smiles, and she isn't moving. If she was asked to level, she wasn't gonna move anytime soon, even if all of this was feeling like some kinda trick of the past. But maybe that was what she needed right now. Her thumb still traced his jaw, even if her eyes couldn't meet his just yet. She whispers,] But like I said, I won't run.
[There was an amused exhale at that. Truth was when it came to it, he didn't want to level. This whole game he built up in his head would come crashing down like the house of cards it was. But for this one moment, things were cake. He couldn't complain.] Good. Means you're safe for the moment.
Don't. [Her tone didn't change, but her brow did furrow a bit. Too much like before.] I don't need a knight in shining armor right now, dig? I just need... a friend. Somebody to talk to. And for you to let me be yours. [She'll catch his eyes now, hoping he sees her as she is now and not as she was.] Please?
[He simply nods. Of course he's already got plans forming, things that needed to be done, but he'll give her this, her need as apparent as his.] Fine, Em. You've got me where you want me.
Well then, c'mon, let's- [She tries to pull back, but he still has a good hold on her, and it just makes her laugh.] Let's heel it? [While she's righthere, she'll just push her fingers through his hair, gently moving it out of his eyes.]
[Her laugh is infectious, and he has to smile back. Even if it's brief. He's not going to stop caring about her, but for the moment, he can dig it.] Fine. Deal. We'll heel it. [He pulled her close to his chest again.]
