When I worked at 66, I was almost 17, and guess how old everyone thought I was? Like 12! Customers would ask me if a was old enough to work there. And it was a tad annoying. Then this one time when i was working at Mervyn's (the following summer), a middle-aged lady meekly said, "I'm sorry, dear, but do you mind if I ask how old you are?" When I told her that I was almost 18, she laughed and said I look 14 or 15. But then she said that in about 20 years I would be rejoicing if someone thought I was a few years younger. I dunno, I found that vaguely comforting, in a weird way. And I hope that you will, too!
